Doors for the medical center

Medical center at Phoenix Lake

Anyone planning a large building to house exclusively medical practices faces their own unique challenges. Doors in particular have to meet high standards. They must ensure the building is accessible, be robust enough to withstand high foot traffic, and be easy to clean in order to maintain hygiene standards. These requirements presented a welcome challenge for our team. Discover how we were able to meet all the requirements of the medical center at Phoenixsee with 304 different doors.

"The medical center was definitely a challenging project. Radiation protection is non-negotiable, accessibility must be ensured, and each room has different requirements. This means that every door must be planned individually. Lead inserts must be calculated with millimeter precision and frames must be precisely tailored to legal requirements. Added to this are sound insulation and hygiene requirements. But it is precisely these complex challenges that demonstrate what our team is capable of."

Complexity meets expertise – door solutions for an extraordinary medical center on Phoenix Lake

Where industry once stood, one of Dortmund's most exciting urban districts is now growing: Phoenix Lake. With a view of the water and surrounded by modern architecture, a new center for living and working has developed here. In the middle of this vibrant district, a building has been constructed that sets standards not only architecturally but also functionally—the new medical center.

At first glance, the new building impresses with its clear design language, elegant metal facade, and generous window fronts that allow light to flood into all rooms. But behind the modern facade a unique challenge: the building houses radiology practices, among other things. In such cases, special radiation protection requirements also apply to the doors.

Our role? Consulting, planning, and implementation—down to the last detail.

It was clear from the outset that this project would require more than standard solutions. It needed partners who recognized the complexity involved and could address it with experience and technical precision.

Our property consulting team took on the task of designing, selecting, and installing highly specialized door solutions. This meant, on the one hand, creating barrier-free access so that all patients could move around the building safely and independently. On the other hand, we had to find doors that would blend seamlessly into the overall architectural design—high-quality, clear, and functional.

And then: the special task.

For the nuclear medicine practice, doors with integrated radiation protection had to be installed—including steel frames with lead inserts, precisely tailored to legal requirements and technical specifications. In addition, we planned and installed soundproof doors for quiet treatment rooms, damp-proof doors for sensitive hygiene areas, security doors, and fire doors with the utmost care.

The result: functionality at the highest level—visible, tangible, and reliable.

Today, the medical center is not only an architectural highlight on Phoenix Lake—it is a place where medical care, well-being, and safety come together. For us, this project was confirmation that when it comes to complex requirements, we are the partner you can rely on.
