Tacke + Lindemann is experiencing continuous growth, which has led to a necessary expansion of the business premises. The extension at Stiftstraße 16, which is connected to the existing store at Kuckelke 21 via the inner courtyard, enables the company to successfully meet the increasing demand.

Takeover of the business by August Tacke
In 1936, August Tacke joins the business after the death of his father and company founder Bruno Tacke. Meanwhile, Walter Lindemann, Carl Lindemann's son, decides against a career in the hardware trade and chooses to study instead. The Lindemann family remained shareholders in the company until the early 1960s.

Complete destruction of the business premises during the Second World War
During the Second World War, the business premises of Tacke + Lindemann were completely destroyed in a bombing raid. August Tacke is only able to salvage one safe from the rubble, which is still in use today at Tacke + Lindemann .

Relocation of the business premises to the 'alten Mühlenweg 44'.
After the destruction of the business premises on Kuckelke and Stiftstraße, the business is temporarily relocated to a bunker under the Trompetenbrunnen. A short time later, the new store is set up in the dance hall of a pub at the alten Mühlenweg 44. Initially, the bowling alley is used as a warehouse.

50th anniversary
Despite the destruction of the store during the Second World War, which had exposed the company Tacke + Lindemann to considerable challenges, the company celebrates its 50th anniversary in 1949. On 01.07.1961, Jürgen Tacke, August Tacke's son, joins the company, continuing the family tradition. In the same year, the Lindemann family is bought out. Despite this change, the company name Tacke + Lindemann , now known throughout the region, remains to this day.

Relocation to Lindemannstrasse
At the end of 1961, the location on Alte Mühlenstraße finally becomes too small, whereupon the company moves into a newly renovated residential building with a business unit at Lindemannstraße 13. There, it not only moves into the new store, but also into garages as storage space and a floor of offices to meet the growing demands of the business.

The hardware store becomes a metal trade
After switching to sales field service, Jürgen Tacke discovers the lucrative business of perforated sheets due to a customer demand. He decides to expand the range and starts stocking various perforated sheets. At this time, Tacke + Lindemann is the only dealer in Europe to stock perforated sheets, laying the foundations for the company's current metal trading business. Recommendations from satisfied industrial customers contributed to Tacke + Lindemann becoming known as a reliable supplier, which led to a steady increase in demand. In a further step, the range is later expanded to include solid sheets, which further strengthens the diversity of the product range and the company's position in the metal trade.

Relocation to the industrial area
The business premises on Lindemannstrasse have become too small due to the steady growth of Tacke + Lindemann . In order to meet the growing requirements, the company decides to purchase a plot of land in Oberdorstfeld and build a modern commercial property on it. This new property includes both warehouse and office space and offers sufficient room for the company's expansion plans.

Development of special closure
In 1978/1979, the development of the special 2/55/60 F spring-loaded lock was a significant milestone for Tacke + Lindemann. The company designed a customized cap lock for a major industrial customer, which laid the foundation for the comprehensive range of locking technologies. This innovative step helped Tacke + Lindemann to emerge not only as a service provider but also as a manufacturer.

Opening of the branch in Leipzig
In 1991, Tacke + Lindemann ventured into Leipzig and opened its first store there, which became the starting point for successful expansion in eastern Germany over the next few years. The original branch in Leipzig still exists today and is now located near Merseburg, where it continues to operate successfully.

Expansion of storage capacity at Kleine Beratgerstrasse 11
In order to effectively meet the growing demand for metal services, Tacke + Lindemann is planning to expand its warehouse capacity at the small Beratgerstraße 11. To this end, the company is moving into the former Kühne Spedition business premises, which are located in the immediate vicinity of its headquarters. This strategic decision enables Tacke + Lindemann not only to operate closer to its headquarters, but also to benefit from the existing logistics structures of the former forwarding company.

Colored aluminum for roof + facade
In view of the increasing demand for colored aluminum in the roofing materials trade, Tacke + Lindemann has decided to respond to the growing demand. This is followed by the expansion of the metal service area with the introduction of colored aluminium for roofs and facade. The products, which are offered under the own brands TA-Lumin, TA-Liquid and TA-Falz , have been very popular with customers since their launch in 2015. With the establishment of the Metal Service Center, Tacke + Lindemann is not only marking a new milestone, but is also transforming itself from a pure dealer into a comprehensive provider that creates significant added value through its range of services.

Reinforcement in the contract business
In order to expand its expertise in the field of door and gate systems, Tacke + Lindemann has acquired several specialist companies in recent years. These strategic acquisitions were driven forward in order to strengthen the company's presence and expertise in the field of door and gate systems. At the same time, the company decided to increase its focus on industrial and construction companies and has no longer been selling to private customers since 2020. This strategic realignment enables Tacke + Lindemann to respond appropriately to changing market conditions.

Trapezoidal and corrugated sheet metal production
In 2022, Tacke + Lindemann reaches a significant milestone in its corporate development with the acquisition of a commercial property on Ezzestrasse in Dortmund. The acquired site was put into operation in March 2023, marked by the successful start of in-house production for trapezoidal and corrugated sheet metal. This strategic move not only testifies to Tacke + Lindemann's ambitious growth plans, but also represents a significant expansion that positions the company not only as an established distributor, but also as a producer. Parallel to this expansion, Tacke + Lindemann has also been working on a new brand identity. Since the end of 2023, the company has presented itself under a new logo and image.
