Not every application is as radiant and unique as this one: Our TA-Aluform® 45/150 trapezoidal sheets with a high-gloss surface made a real statement at the Samsung fan pavilion. Covering 500 m², they became a shiny protective shield for the temporary pop-up experience at the 2024 Olympic Games.
We are proud that our customized solutions played a part in this extraordinary project.
A project that shows that our sheet metal can shine - in the truest sense of the word.

"You don't experience a project like this every day - being able to work on a project in the middle of Paris, as part of the Olympic Games and for a global brand like Samsung was something very special for us. The combination of technical challenges and aesthetic demands was a lot of fun."
~ Melanie Czollmann, Key Account Manager
In the middle of the Champs-Elysées, just a few steps away from the Olympic action at Place de la Concorde, Samsung has created an architectural highlight for the 2024 Olympics: a temporary fan pavilion that takes visitors on a visual journey through the company's long-standing Olympic commitment.
Designed by renowned architect Jean Nouvel, the pavilion became a stage for innovation, history and emotion. Iconic Samsung special editions of past games, a spectacular spherical screen with live broadcasts, historic Olympic torches - and much more - were presented.
In order for the roof construction to meet the technical and design requirements, a stable and elegant solution was needed. The trapezoidal sheeting not only had to withstand wind and weather, but also bear the load of the large-format screens and an impressive logo installation.
The decision was therefore made in favor of our tried-and-tested TA-Aluform® trapezoidal sheet profile 45/150, made from 0.6 mm thick stainless steel with a smooth, shiny surface. A solution that not only impresses with its load-bearing capacity, but also blends harmoniously into the high-quality overall concept.
It was particularly important to architect Jean Nouvel that the roof of the pavilion was not only functionally impressive, but also visually merged with its surroundings. The reflective effect of the mounted monitors was to be continued in the roof - as a visual extension of the overall concept.
Stainless steel R2 with a bright annealed surface was therefore deliberately chosen, a material with a particularly high reflective power and elegant shine. However, these optical qualities demand the utmost precision in processing: stainless steel is sensitive to scratches and unevenness. This material does not forgive mistakes.
Our experienced production team therefore manufactured the sheets with the utmost care and under constant supervision. The result: high-gloss, flawless trapezoidal sheets that are not only structurally impressive, but also make a clear aesthetic statement. They reflect the surroundings, support the technical equipment and protect visitors at the same time - in keeping with the architectural vision.
With such a special project, nothing is left to chance. In addition to selecting the right trapezoidal profile, we therefore focused on maximum planning security - and commissioned a supplementary structural analysis. Because with the expected visitor frequency during the Olympic Games, it was clear that the load-bearing capacity and load reserves had to be checked down to the last detail.
Our production team only got to work after successful testing: a total of 324 trapezoidal sheets in four project-specific formats were manufactured with the utmost care. Particular attention was paid to the reflective stainless steel surface - it was protected by a hard-wearing protective film to prevent scratches during transportation and installation.
The installation on site was ultimately carried out by the experienced installation team. They transformed the precisely manufactured material into an impressive architectural roof that is not only technically impressive, but also visually stunning.
We offer customized trapezoidal and corrugated profiles in various materials, special formats and colours. Manufactured on our own three roll forming lines - available throughout Europe. Our team can also recommend many other suitable products to make your project a success.
